Parents on Writing
How
can you help your teen with writing?
*
Write yourself. Leave notes around the house. It’s an everyday thing.
*
Encourage your teen to write all the time – anything and everything.
*
Work with your teen’s teachers.
*
Check their work to ensure they are following the complete writing
process.
What
will colleges look for in your child’s writing?
Their thoughts should be well organized, concise, to the point, and most
importantly, grammatically correct. Pick up any of the dozens of grammar
books available in bookstores or libraries for your son or daughter. Good
grammar skills are like time management skills – they are the kind that they
will use for life.
