    Study Skills

 

 

What do you do if it isn’t cool to study? What happens when the peer pressure is so great not to study, not to do well? 

It is a very hard road to walk alone. 

*    Try and find some friends who care about school and learning 
      and making a place in the world as an adult. 

*    Ask a trusted adult to help you through – to be your mentor. 

*    Keep believing in yourself and the goals you are setting.

 

 Study Skills Checklist

*          Keep a positive attitude.     

*          Get your time organized.

         Have a plan and stick to it.

         Discover your learning style and use it to study.

*          Discover your best study environment.

*          Keep in mind that everyone has different study & learning patterns -- do what is best for you!

*          Study in short sessions.

*          Break reading into small chunks.

*          Take breaks – reward yourself

*          Remember to come back after breaks.

*          Breathe.

*          Snack nutritiously.

*          Try not to pull all-nighters.

*·         Review every week.

*
          Get enough sleep

*
          Remember always – You Can Do This!
