APPLICATIONS |
COLLEGE VISITS
Get as much done before the senior year that you
can!
When you visit the colleges you think are your
child's top picks, while they are busy with an
interview or visiting a class, go to the campus
bookstore. Purchase something small, like a key
chain or a car window sticker -- something that
has the school logo on it. When your child makes
the final decision, you can present your child
with this surprise. It's fun and it let's him/her
know you're proud of the choice!
When you visit a college -- keep your eyes and
ears open. Your student will pick up on some
things -- you will pick up on others. Look for
issues that point to student safety issues.

COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
The application process is difficult and time consuming. Help by supporting
your teen -- don't do their work for them. Help your teen stay on track and get
all of the forms submitted on time. Help them bridge the world of high school to
the world of college.

COLLEGE INTERVIEWS
College entrance or scholarship
interviews should be viewed just as job interviews are -- they are important.
They are two-way streets. Help your teen prepare for this important step by
listening and role playing.
