Tips and Tricks

Courtesy and good manners go a long way in the real world. Good manners are behaviors that have to be used so often that they become automatic. Good manners and courtesy are basically about respecting the others around you and yourself.

In a world long since past, manners were always taught in the home setting starting at a very early age. In today's world, that often is not the case. Some school districts have instituted programs that teach manners in an effort to help change classroom behaviors.

Some really simple places to start for yourself:

    *    Don't use profanity.

    *    Keep your hands/body to yourself.

    *    Speak to others as you would like to be spoken to.

    *    Be polite -- that can be as simple as saying "please" and "thank you".
